Our Story
Our Origin
Afya Care and Treatment Services was established in rural East Mississippi to address the critical healthcare needs of underserved populations in the region. With a significant shortage of medical providers, long travel distances to access care, and high rates of chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension, the local community faced severe barriers to receiving timely and adequate treatment.
The opening of Afya was driven by a commitment to bridge these gaps by creating a network of comprehensive healthcare services, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and mental health support. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we only aim to enrich the communities we serve by pouring our resources into everything we do.
