Scholarship Opportunities

Application opens in November. Admission documents and the FAFSA are due Dec 1.

The Statesman award covers tuition, room, and board for eight semesters for one student with a 3.75 GPA and an ACT of 28 or SAT of 1300. Other awards are matched automatically to GPA and test scores. A completed FAFSA must be on file.

Apply for admission by Dec 1.

Admitted first year students are automatically considered, with no separate application. Students from outside Florida can receive an out of state tuition waiver worth about $18,452 a year. First generation and Pell Grant students may be invited into the QUEST or Illuminate Scholars programs, each worth $6,000.

Priority date: Dec 1.

The General Scholarship Application opened Oct 1. It includes the Promise Scholarship, $10,000 over four years for Mississippi residents with an ACT of 19 or higher, a 3.0 GPA, the FAFSA, and family income of $42,000 or less.

Priority deadline: Dec 4.

Students who apply by Dec 4 are considered for competitive scholarships. Later applicants are considered only as funds allow.

Spring term deadline: Jan 2. Fall term deadline: Aug 1.

Apply for institutional scholarships ahead of the deadline for the term you plan to start.

Deadline: Jan 10, 2027.

The Freshman Scholarship Application opened Sept 15 and shares its deadline with the Competitive Academic Programs Application.

Applications run Oct 15 to Jan 15.

The Presidential award needs a 3.50 GPA and an ACT of 28 or higher. The Provost award needs a 3.25 GPA and an ACT of 25 to 27. Both cover tuition, room, and board. One admissions page lists Feb 15, so confirm the date with the school.

Apply by the admissions priority deadline.

There is no separate scholarship application. Admitted freshmen are considered through the admissions application, with out of state awards of up to $10,000, $16,000, or $20,000 a year. The latest published dates were Nov 1 for early action and Jan 15 for regular decision, so confirm the exact deadline with UF.

Merit application closes Feb 1.

The merit scholarship application opened Sept 1. Out of state students can apply for the Trojan Opportunity Expanded Scholarship, which covers the out of state portion of tuition. Foundation scholarships open Jan 1 and close March 1.

Fall deadline: March 15.

The FAFSA is required. Donor funded scholarships also need a UNCF profile and the UNCF General Scholarship application.

Closes March 31, 2027.

A need based award of $500 to $5,000 for students at UNCF member schools, most of which are HBCUs.
