Shining Star Educational Services (SSES) is an education, tutoring, training, public relations, and instructional design company that has supported schools and organizations across Alabama since 2018 and now serves Mississippi communities too. As one of Afya’s close partners, SSES helped develop Project My VIBE, our healthy lifestyles and health education curriculum for students in grades 6 through 12. SSES also helped develop the curriculum for the Mississippi Behavioral Health Careers Opportunity Program (MSBHCOP) and spearheaded getting Afya into the schools. They also work alongside our team on school based programs and grant efforts that bring health education to young people.
SSES hosts recurring parental engagement sessions in collaboration with the Lowndes County School District and the Columbus Municipal School District, and they are working to expand the program to other school districts. We are grateful for their creativity, rigor, and heart for students.
